There is Not One Will of God for Your Life
By David J. Stewart | July 2010 | Updated September 2016
Many believers feel like they've ruined their life, that they've blown it big time and are out of the race for God. Sin robs so many people of their self esteem, self-worth and self-motivation. But there is no one big will of God for your life, and that's a wrong attitude to have about yourself and the will of God.
The truth is that there are MANY wills of God for our lives. Literally, God has thousands of wills for your life. Just because you blew it in one or two areas doesn't render you useless for God. There is so much that you can do for God. Some of God's greatest soldiers are people who have fallen by the way side for a time, but then got back up, dusted themselves off, and charged Hell with a squirt gun to fight against the Devil. 2nd Timothy, “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Amen!
Satan fears the believer who falls upon his or her knees to pray to God. Please don't misunderstand, I am not saying that Christians ought to be into the self life, not at all. In fact, we ought to get out of the self life completely. There is no greater joy than living for others for God. And the greatest thing we can do for others is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. The Bible calls this “soul-winning” (Proverb 11:30). If you feel like you've messed up your life beyond repair, take heart my friend, Jesus died on the cross so He could make everything right.
“God will still use you, I
don't care what you've done!”
—an encouraging quote from the MP3 sermon by Dr.
Jack Hyles titled, “If
Thou Should Mark Iniquities, Who Could Stand?”
We've all blown it at times in life, having failed to do God's will, but those failures can become stepping stones to a brighter future serving God. Come hell, wind or high water, we can rejoice in knowing that our name is written in Heaven, and that every day of our life, even if it be utterly miserable, is another opportunity to serve God and win people to the Lord with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! God only has sinners to work with. Satan tries to discourage us, using enemies to remind us of past sins and failures, to hinder us from serving God. Ah, but it was love that nailed Jesus to the cross, Who paid the price for our sins with His precious blood. If you are a born again Christian, and you're right with the Lord as a believer, you have every right to serve God.
You Can Still Do What You Always Could Do
(an encouraging life-changing MP3
sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles)
I don't care what horrible things you may have done my friend, God still wants you and has something for you to do! If God can use Moses, a murderer, so also can He use you! If God was willing to use the apostle Paul, a murderer before he was saved, then He can use you too. How about when a Christian sins? King David was saved, yet he committed adultery and murder to cover-up his sins. Yet, God forgave David when he repented and used him mightily to author most of the Psalms and serve Him.
Some of the hardest Christian workers who do the most for God are people who got out of God's will at some place in their life. They felt defeated and like all hope was lost, but instead of quitting or feeling sorry for themselves, they rose up and got busy serving God in whatever way they could. There is a place for everyone in the Body of Christ. The Scriptures plainly teach that the toe is as important as the finger, and the knee as important as the shoulder in the Body of Christ. Romans 12:5, “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” Praise God! We all have our own little area that we can function in the Body of Christ. We are all members of the family of God, and no one is expendable. There is a place for you to serve that no one else can replace. If you don't do the work for the Lord, then no one can do it because only you have that area of influence in life. So get busy for God.
“If there's
anybody in the Bible that God had disdain for,
it was those that had
disdain for other sinners!”
—an awesome quote from the MP3 sermon by Dr.
Jack Hyles titled, “If
Thou Should Mark Iniquities, Who Could Stand?”
No one can show you exactly what God's will for your life is, because you are an individual with a freewill. Pray for God's Holy Spirit to guide you as Jesus promised in John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” It is the Holy Spirit Who guides us and teaches us the Word of God. There is something that only you can do for God, a work that He has prepared just for you.
“The Devil will make you guilty about your past... You're not worthy to serve God, but neither is anybody else worthy to serve God, and so God's gotta have unworthy people serving Him... That's one reason why we should do everything we can to salvage people.” —a beautiful quote from the MP3 sermon by Dr. Jack Hyles titled, “If Thou Should Mark Iniquities, Who Could Stand?”
Don't make the mistake that so many believers do, of thinking that there's nothing you can do for God because of past sins, mistakes and failures. Oh, yes there is! Every believer can and ought to go soul-winning. If you know how you got saved, then you can be a soul-winner. Just tell people how you got saved so they can get saved too. You came as a SINNER and you trusted upon the SAVIOR to forgive your sins. It's that simple! Anybody can be a soul-winner for Jesus Christ! There is so much we can all do for the cause of Christ. Look what this Christian man did for Jesus.
So be encouraged friend, there is no one BIG WILL of God for your life. There are many wills of God, and just because you've blown it in some areas, doesn't mean that you can't succeed in the other areas. The notion that there is one big will of God for a person's life is wrong. It's simply not true. There are a thousand areas of our life. Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” Praise God!
The Bible tells us to acknowledge God in all our ways. What a wonderful passage of Scripture! The Bible tells us not to lean upon our own frail understanding; but rather, to wholly trust God in every area of our life. Trust means not to worry. You can't trust and worry at the same time. Consider God in every decision you make, and He has promised to direct your paths. That's a good deal. God will not leave us alone to sink or swim; He will direct our paths if we'll simply fear Him, depart from evil, and seek to please Him by faith in everything we do.
God's Army Only Uses Wounded Soldiers
(an awesome MP3 sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles; You can help
those who are where you once were!)
God's will is for us to keep going, burying the past, moving forward by faith in the joy of the Lord. You cannot change the past; but you can serve God now, and win souls now, and please God now. God is a just God; He does not expect the impossible. You cannot right all the wrongs in your past, no one can; which is why Jesus died on the cross, so He could. Amen!
Don't judge others because they sin differently than you do!
Perhaps you feel that you have forfeited God's perfect will for your life, and you are tossed about on the stormy seas of life without a purpose for living. Well my friend, there is a wonderful God up in Heaven, Who is alive and keeps us breathing (Acts 17:25), and He loves you dearly (1st John 3:16), and has many wills for your life. You may have messed up in many areas of your life, and perhaps feel that you've forfeited God's best; but it may be the very obstacles and failures in your life that God uses to raise you up to do a great work for God.
Look at Joseph, whose brothers sold him into slavery; but God raised Joseph up to be governor over Egypt. Look at David who committed adultery and murder; but God used David's repentant and broken heart to pen the Psalms. Look at Peter who denied Christ and cursed His very name, but God used Peter to lead over 3,000 souls to Christ on Pentecost (Acts 2:41). You see friend, God can take that which is bad and make it good, as only God can do. God can take the lemons in our life and make lemonade. Trust Him and desire to please Him with your life, and God will show you what to do. We have God's promise in Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” God only expects us to live life as He gives it to us... one day at a time.
“When the last helper has fainted, the last cure has failed, faith's last leaf has withered and your last friend has faltered, there is a God in Heaven Who answers prayer Who will care for you and provide for your needs.”
